Do you want a Travel Designer who knows Africa? Frances specialises in travel to; Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zanzibar and South Africa.

My background

Growing up on a remote peninsula in the wild western reaches of Scotland, my childhood was filled with David Attenborough documentaries and dreams of Africa. That early fascination turned into a lifelong passion, one that led me from Scotland’s windswept coasts to the heart of the African continent.


After eight years at university in Aberdeen, I earned honours degrees in both fine arts and zoology. Armed with determination and a clear vision, I landed my first role as Chief Scientist for the African Wildlife Foundation – based in Tanzania and living in a Maasai village. It was an immersive, transformative experience that deepened both my scientific knowledge and my connection to the continent.

 

 

Following several years of field research, I transitioned into the safari and travel industry, where I found my true calling: crafting extraordinary, deeply personal journeys across Africa. I continued to live in Tanzania, then later along South Africa’s Garden Route and the vibrant city of Cape Town.

 

With nearly two decades of experience in African travel, I now specialise in designing once-in-a-lifetime safaris that leave a lasting impact – not only on those who take them, but also on the people, places, and wildlife they touch.
